A Word

From Our Team

We are at a crossroads in American education spanning multiple generations.  If we do not focus our efforts and help students of all ages attain the ability to communicate through reading and writing effectively, we risk the loss of vital communication within our society.  It is imperative that we take the time to educate all people through effective and enjoyable programs, created to ingrain the fundamental necessity of literacy skills in a civilized society.

WE THANK OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND FRIENDS FOR HELPING MAKE LITERACY PROS A SUCCESS.

INMATE TUTOR TRAINING

Since our founding in 2003, Literacy Pros of Jacksonville has partnered with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office to train inmates to tutor fellow inmates. This program continues today to help inmates improve literacy skills as needed to reduce recidivism, improve life skills and increase rates of successful employment and reentry upon release.

Correctional, reentry and rehabilitation facilities are encouraged to contact Literacy Pros to develop a #Blue4Books, Teen Read2Lead or literacy tutor program at no charge.
